Frostcast is a frost forecast app that tells you each evening whether your car's windshield will have frost or ice by the time you leave tomorrow morning. It estimates the glass temperature hour by hour — on clear, calm nights the glass gets colder than the air — and tells you whether to cover the windshield tonight, allow extra minutes in the morning, or do nothing.
What you get
- One clear verdict for tonight → your departure: frost unlikely, possible, likely, or ice/snow likely
- Estimated glass temperature at the coldest hour, with the air temperature and frost point for comparison
- A one-line plan: cover the windshield tonight, or how many extra minutes to allow in the morning
- Why: clear sky, calm air, humid air — the three things that make frost
- Settings for where you park (open sky or under a roof) and how you usually clear the glass
Frostcast Pro (one-time purchase)
- Your own departure time — the verdict for when you actually leave
- Evening notification, only on nights with frost risk
- Morning reminder 30 minutes before departure when frost is likely
- Hour-by-hour glass temperature through the night

FAQ
Is Frostcast free?
Yes. Tonight's verdict is free, with no ads and no account. Frostcast Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that adds your own departure time, an evening notification on nights with frost risk, a morning reminder and the hour-by-hour glass temperature through the night.
Why is there frost on my car when the forecast says +3 °C?
On a clear, calm night the glass loses heat to the sky and can cool several degrees below the air. Frostcast estimates the glass temperature from cloud cover, wind and humidity and compares it with the frost point, so it catches frost that the air temperature alone would miss.
What can Frostcast warn me about?
Frost, an ice film after dew or rain, freezing rain and snow. The verdict for tonight until your departure is one of: frost unlikely, possible, likely, or ice/snow likely.
Does it matter where I park?
Yes. Set whether you park under the open sky or under a roof. Glass under a roof loses less heat to the sky, so the estimate is adjusted.
When will it notify me?
With Frostcast Pro, you get an evening notification only on nights with frost risk, and a reminder 30 minutes before your departure when frost is likely. Notifications are scheduled on your device.
Do I have to share my location?
No. You can search a place by name instead. If you allow location, it is rounded on your device to a grid of about 5 km before it is sent to fetch the forecast, and it is used only for the forecast and never shared. The privacy policy lists exactly what leaves your device.
