Terms of Use — Frostcast
Last updated: 2026-09-15
• Frostcast shows a forecast-based estimate. It can be wrong.
• You are responsible for checking that all windows are fully clear before you drive, and for following the laws that apply to you.
• If we are at fault through ordinary negligence, our liability is limited to what you paid for the app. We never exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
1. Who we are
Frostcast is provided by SUTEKINA JIKAN, LLC, Ichinomiya, Chiba, Japan ("we", "us"). Contact: info@sutekinajikan.com.
2. What the app does — and does not do
2.1 Frostcast provides an estimate, based on weather forecasts, of whether frost or ice is likely on your vehicle's windows by the time you leave. It is information for your convenience. 2.2 The app relies on third-party weather forecasts and on a simplified physical model. A forecast is not a measurement. The estimate can be wrong, late, or unavailable, and conditions at your exact location can differ from the forecast. 2.3 The app is not a safety device, not professional advice, and not a substitute for your own judgement. It does not check, and does not tell you, whether an activity is legal.
3. Your responsibilities
3.1 You are responsible for checking that all windows are fully clear before you drive. 3.2 You are responsible for complying with the rules on clearing snow and ice from your vehicle and any other laws that apply to you. 3.3 You are responsible for the safety of yourself, other people, and property, and for any decision you make after looking at the app. 3.4 You must be of legal age to enter into this agreement in your country, and you may use the app only for your personal, non-commercial use.
4. Notifications
Notifications are scheduled on your device from the most recent forecast the app fetched. They are provided on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or not delivered, for example if the app has not been opened for several days or your device restricts background activity. Do not rely on a notification as your only reminder.
5. Third-party data and services
Forecast data comes from Apple Weather or Open-Meteo, as shown in the app. We do not control and do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or availability of third-party data. Apple Weather data is subject to Apple's legal terms shown in the app.
6. Purchases
Pro is a one-time purchase handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. Prices are shown in the store before you buy. Refunds are handled by the store according to its rules. We do not receive your payment details.
7. No warranty (subject to section 9)
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by the law that applies to you, we do not make any warranty that the app or its estimates will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability (subject to section 9)
8.1 Where we are at fault through ordinary negligence, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app. 8.2 To the extent permitted by the law that applies to you, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by your reliance on an estimate without carrying out your own check under section 3.
9. What these terms do not do
9.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that the law that applies to you does not allow us to exclude or limit. 9.2 If you are a consumer, you have rights under the laws of the country where you live. These terms do not take those rights away. If any part of these terms conflicts with those rights, that part does not apply to you, and the rest of these terms continues to apply.
10. Privacy
Our privacy policy at https://frostcast.expo.app/privacy explains what data the app processes. In short: the app sends only a rounded location to our forecast server, and we do not use tracking or advertising.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will show the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app before they take effect. If you do not agree, stop using the app; the store's refund rules apply to your purchase.
12. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Chiba District Court in Japan has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over disputes arising from these terms, except that if you are a consumer this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of your right to bring a claim in the courts of that country.
13. Language
These terms are written in English. Translations are provided for convenience. If there is a conflict, the English version prevails, unless the law of your country requires the version in your language to apply.
14. Other
If any provision of these terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the app.
